That I am lucky for having a brain where all the chemicals flow properly to their destinations like undammed rivers. When I complain about how bored I am without a little brother to play with, they try to make me feel bad by pointing out that his boredom likely far surpasses mine, considering his confine to a dark room in an institution. I always beg for them to give him one last chance. Of course, they did at first. Charlie has been back home several times, each shorter in duration than the last. Every time without fail, it all starts again. The neighborhood cats with gouged out eyes showing up in his toy chest, my dad’s razors found dropped on the baby slide in the park across the street, mom’s vitamins replaced by bits of dishwasher tablets. My parents are hesitant now, using “last chances” sparingly. They say his disorder makes him charming, makes it easy for him to fake normalcy, and to trick the doctors who care for him into thinking he is ready for rehabilitation. That I will just have to put up with my boredom if it means staying safe from him. I hate when Charlie has to go away. Stretching across northeastern France, particularly around areas like Sedan and Metz, this war zone bore witness to a clash of two formidable European powers in the summer and autumn of 1870. The War was a clash of industrialized warfare meets 19th-century military tactics. It was a place where the old world of cavalry charges and colorful uniforms met the new world of rapid-firing rifles and artillery, leaving behind a life scarred by death, destruction, and despair.        Now this war is quite obscure nowadays, but I'm not bringing this to your attention to be some sort of hipster, oh no, my dear listeners, this war should be known far and wide not lost to the pages of time. They lured vulnerable individuals, killed them, and then sold the bodies for dissection, taking advantage of the high demand for anatomical specimens. Their gruesome crimes eventually led to their capture and the subsequent public outrage and legal proceedings, making them infamous figures in the history of crime. If you are continuing with this episode I will begin.  During World War II, Croatia was part of the Axis Powers and established the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) in 1941 under the leadership of the Ustasha regime. The NDH was a puppet state aligned with Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. The Ustasha government pursued a policy of extreme nationalism and ethnic cleansing, targeting Serbs, Jews, Roma, and other minority groups. I know what your think, Rob this is no different to any other fascist ideology of the time, and in some respects you are right but the depths of evil this government went to had the Nazis cutting ties with their own creation because they were to extreme.
